God Provides "Every" Spiritual Blessing

New Year is just around the corner. It’s time to reflect, and so I sat down again and thought long and hard about the things that I’m thankful for just like what I did last year. There are so many things to be thankful about this year. First of all, I am thankful that I can get up every day and be happy with what I have. Because it takes more skill to enjoy what you have, as opposed to always wanting more to be happy. I may not have a lot, but I have all I need. In fact, I actually don't need much, just enough to be comfortable, and I am just glad that I have what I need to live and prosper.

Now, what else is there, really, to be thankful for? Well…

Here are eight of the things that I am thankful for this year.

Family and friends
Being with my friends, pamangkins, and my whole family always bring me happiness, joy and love. ‘Nuff said. [Smiles]

The Things Money Can’t Buy
Who hasn’t heard these before? Money can buy a bed, but it cannot buy sleep; money can buy books, but it cannot by brains; money can buy food, but not appetite; money can buy a house, but not a home; money can buy medicine, but not health; money can buy amusement, but not happiness; and money can buy flattery, but not respect. Well, it’s good to be reminded over and over again.

BANDS 5th Anniversary
I am thankful when BANDS marked its 5th Year Anniversary last month. When BANDS first rolled off the press about five years ago, I had no idea what was in store. All I knew was BANDS was born with nothing more than faith and love on the scene, that the new generation was hungry looking for new, great bands, and that we saw the need for a magazine that would explore the passions and insights of the exciting world of the band scene. Sure, five years of BANDS existence may not have built many pyramids, or carved a very big swath of the Grand Canyon, but when you know you’re part of the exhilarating times for rock ‘n’ roll and in a way you are chronicling the scene, that already in itself, is success. I am thankful that I have the opportunity to do what I love to do.

Great Songs/Bands/Albums in 2011
From Parokya ni Edgar to Sponge Cola to Pupil to Slapshock to Somedaydream to Foster the People to Blink-182 to The Script to Coldplay – it looks like another great year of music is about to begin in 2012. Can’t wait!

Great Concerts in 2011
From 30 Seconds to Mars to Incubus to All Time Low to Anberlin to Westlife to Black Eyed Peas to Train… life’s just great! Can’t wait to see Simple Plan, The Fray, Hanson, Dashboard Confessional and many more next year. Thanks Dayly Entertainment and Futuretainment, Inc.

Laughter
During the most difficult times, laughter becomes necessary. Without laughter, our lives become just a little more empty.  That’s why I laugh everyday (I have to) and I am thankful that I have so many reasons (big and small) to laugh. It has been said that laughter is the best medicine. Can you deny the truth of that?

Life’s Simple Pleasures
They say life is filled with simple pleasures, the little satisfying effects you never really anticipate, but always take great pleasure in. I agree. Mine are:

* Hearing my new favorite “ME” songs: This Song Saved My Life, The Story of Your Life, The Pieces Don’t Fit Anymore, White Night, I Think God Can Explain, Paradise, U.F.O., Give Me Strength, Summertime, Faith (When I Let You Down), Wanna Be Sure, Science & Faith, Rebellion (Lies), Can’t Go Back Now, No Woman, No Cry, Say, Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall, No Idea and Today My Life Begins.

* Lying in bed, waking up from a good dream, watching the sunrise, watching the sunset, reading a good book, finding money in a pocket that I had forgotten about, listening to the rain softly fall, enjoying a beautiful view, freebies, a good joke, watching an old movie on DVD, watching X-Factor and Glee, Federer winning his six ATP Finals, looking at old pictures, when I judged for STI’s Battle of the Bands again, unexpected gifts, Twitter, and “LIKE” on BANDS Facebook Fan Page. Oh, there are hundreds of little things we all take for granted and if we just sat down and thought about it for a while we would be amazed.

God Provides "Every" Spiritual Blessing
Ephesians 1:3 says, “God delivers perfectly and fully everything we need for our spiritual well being. God has never done a half-way job of anything. All through the Bible, there is this trail of distinctive evidence: God does what He says . . . delivers what He promises . . . establishing His sufficiency and power to supply everything we need. Every provision; every instruction; every motivation; every reason; every promise – "Every spiritual blessing" is provided by God in Christ.”

New Year is the perfect time to renew the bond of love. Here’s wishing you my love and good luck this day and always. Wishing you the season filled with fun times and good cheers.

Much love,
